Content marketing is defined as a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and sharing valuable, high-quality, relevant, and consistent content to attract, inform, engage and retain a clearly defined audience, while also promoting the brand itself – and ultimately, to drive profitable customer action.
The keyword in this definition is “valuable”. Without it, the definition could easily describe almost any form of advertising or marketing. But content has to be valuable. A piece of content can be a part of a content marketing campaign only if the audience wants to consume it.
